Visit the World’s Largest Desert Living Fort - Jaisalmer Fort, and listen to the folk-tales by the locals residing in the fort Dance on the Rajasthani beats in the local attire with the local Cultural Folk Dancers while having sizzling barbeque in the vivid desert Relive the bollywood moments at the Sam Sand Dunes where many blockbuster movies were shot like - Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Airlift, Parmanu and many more. Visit one of the most preserved and largest fort of India, Mehrangarh Fort, Jodhpur and take pictures of the vibrant blue city from the top Witness the local menfolk wearing colorful turbans which have a unique character where you will feel like you have gone back in time.

A little over 20 kilometres to the west of the desert town of Jaisalmer in Rajasthan, lies Kuldhara. As you take the dusty road that leads to it, you will notice the scant presence of human existence. The vegetation is minimal – the meek straying goats have probably feasted on the last bits. The afternoon sun is fiery when you reach the ruined gates of the town. Kuldhara stands desolate and an uncanny silence prevails all around. This village was abandoned by its people 200 years ago.

DAY 1 Departure from Base Location

Our journey starts with a train ride for travellers joining Delhi.

Travellers joining directly from Jodhpur will have to reach Jodhpur Railway Station by 10:00 AM on next day.

Travellers from Delhi will depart from DELHI S ROHILLA. Train DEE JU SF EXP with Train No. 22482 will depart at 11:10 PM and will reach Jodhpur next day by 10:00 AM.

Travellers from Ahmedabad will depart from SABARMATI BG. Train SBIB JSM EXP with Train No. 14804 will depart at 11:00 PM and will reach Jodhpur next day by 06:40 AM.

Travellers from Indore will depart from Bus at 6:30 PM and will reach Jodhpur next day by 10:30 AM.

DAY 2 Explore Jodhpur

Arrival at Jodhpur by 10:00 AM then directly transfer to Hotel. Freshen-up, have Breakfast and get ready to explore Jodhpur around 11:30 AM.

Then we will head for Jodhpur Sightseeing including Jaswant Thada, Mandore Garden, Mehrangarh Fort and Umaid Bhawan.

Get back to Hotel and have Dinner.

DAY 3 Sand Dunes

Wake up and have a Breakfast then we will leave for Sand Dunes.

Around 1:30 PM we will leave for Sand Dunes. It will take 4-5 hours (around 270 km) to reach.

You will get a Warm Rajasthani Welcome with Dhol and Tika. Camps will be allotted to you in the meantime enjoy the Fire Show, Rajasthani Folk Dance, and DJ with snacks.

In evening we will head for Jeep and Camel Safari near the campsite. Witness sunset at Sand Dunes while having the adventure.

Enjoy the delicious Rajasthani dinner and overnight stay and Swiss Tent.

You will get a Warm Rajasthani Welcome with Dhol and Tika.

Note : There will be early check-in at 7:00-8:00 am in the morning. We expect your cooperation, as the rooms get cleared we will be accomodating you in your respective rooms. As per standard timings all the hotels give Check-in only at 12:30, but we will try to give you guys an early check-in if there is no delay in schedule so that you can relax and enjoy your day to the fullest.

DAY 4 Longewala War Memorial

Wake up, have your breakfast, and get ready to explore the wonderful Golden City.

Check-out from the campsite around 10:30 AM, enjoy a Camel ride, and head for the place where the major battles fought on the western at the time of the India Pakistan War of 1971, “Longewala War Memorial”.

Longewala War Memorial is the place of the battle of Longewala in 1971 between Pakistan and India. The super hit movie "Border" is based on the battle of Longewala. The museum has been built right on the place of the battle, and it is maintained by the Indian Army.

Then we will leave for Jaisalmer sightseeing by 2:00 PM. Have a walk in this beautiful Golden City and explore Patwon Ki Haveli, Salim Singh-ki Haveli, and Jaisalmer Fort. A sharp departure from bus parking towards Gadisar Lake around 6:00 PM and witness amazing sunset while boating in this beautiful lake. You can roam around the city from this location on your own.

Dinner would be served in Jaisalmer around 10:00 PM and then we leave for Jodhpur around 11:30 PM.

Note : You can board train SHALIMAR EXP (14645) from Jaiselmer at 11:25 PM and reach Delhi next day by 4:50 PM. Please choose option JSM - Delhi for this train booking.

DAY 5 Homecoming

We will reach Jodhpur station around 5:30 AM.

Travellers from Delhi will depart from Jodhpur Railway Station. Train RANIKHET EXP with Train No. 15013 will depart at 08:15 AM and will reach Delhi by 9:15 PM.

Travellers from Ahmedabad will depart from BHAGAT KI KOTHI. Train BGKT DDR EXPRESS with Train No. 14807 will depart at 05:15 AM and will reach Ahmedabad by 1:30 PM.

Travellers from Indore will depart from Jodhpur Railway Station. Train RANTHAMBORE EXP with Train No. 12466 will depart at 05:00 AM and will reach Indore by 9:15 PM.

What Do You Need for the trek?

Minimum 50-55 litres Rucksack with cover.

1 small Day pack.

Good trekking shoes that are oaky, so that you can have a comfortable grip ( strongly recommended).

Layered clothes, as when the weather changes in the mountain you can put on layers or take it off as per your comfortability.

1 Trekking Pole, to maintain stability and balance.

1 stainless steel lunch box with Airtight Lid, a stainless steel mug & a stainless steel spoon.

At Least 2 full sleeve t-shirts must be dry fit (Big No for cotton t-shirt)

2 trek pants must be dry fit with zippered pockets, so you can put your mobile, hanky or snacks (Big No for Jeans)

1 pair of Thermal wear.

1 Padded jacket or down jacket.

2 sweaters or fleece jackets.

1 rain jacket and 1 rain pant. (If you don’t have a rucksack cover then you can carry a poncho instead of a rain jacket. )

4 pairs of sport socks must be dry fit.

1 pair of woolen socks to keep your feet warm.

1 pair of synthetic hand gloves (For easy grip over anything or to keep yourself warm).

1 sun cap or hat, so it can provide you protection from sunstroke, headache, and dehydration.

1 woolen head cap/ balaclava, so that it can protect your ears from cold sensitivity.

1 woolen neck warmer or scarf to keep your neck warm.

Under garments according to your comfort but shouldn't be too many.

How to get fit for the trek

In case you’re just starting with a regular fitness routine, phase out your distance targets in the following manner –

Target completing 5 km in 40 minutes when you begin.
Gradually increase your pace by running 4 times a week and bring it down to 5 km in less than 35 mins.
If you are above 45 years and is comfortable with brisk walking, then target covering 10km in 90 minutes.
If you are somebody you prefers cycling over running, then try to cover 25 km in 60 minutes.

Strength – Target 4 sets of squats with 20 in each

This is another area you should work on.
There is a lot of trekking distance that you will cover in high altitude carrying your backpacks.
You have to walk on uneven terrain during the trek. It could be taxing for your legs. For this, strengthening your legs will help.

You can do some squats to strengthen them. Start with 3 sets of squats, with 8 squats in each set and work towards reaching your target in 3 weeks.

Flexibility

Another aspect that will help you trek comfortably is flexibility.
For this, you can do some stretching exercises – stretch your hamstrings, quadriceps, hip flexors, lower back muscles and shoulders regularly.
On your trek, it is important that you arrive on the slopes with your muscles relaxed. Carrying a backpack, however light, can become a strain after a while.
These exercises will help you to be in good shape before the trek.

Meals at the accommodations or other services not utilized during the tour shall be not liable for any kind of refund from the tour price.
Due to unavoidable circumstances, if the company cancels the tour, the entire advance/deposit amount will be non-refundable.
Management will not take any other liability towards any loss/damage of life/property or any other belongings whatsoever of the tourist caused by any accident/theft/ robbery or any other unwanted happening during the tour.
All stays will be in triple/ quad sharing basis only. Double sharing as per availability with extra per night charges.

Due to any avoidable/unavoidable reason you wish to leave the trip early, you will not be entitled to any refund.
In case of any injuries/illness on mountains during trip/activity. BAREFOOT TREKIANS as a company or our local staff will not be responsible.

- Any cost incurred in route to & from the destination for personal expenses of traveler.
- Meals (unless specified), alcoholic beverages, telephone calls.
- Additional personal use of vehicle, any extra sight seeing apart from specified in itinerary.

Cancellation Policy

No cancellations will be taken over the Call or WhatsApp message. Please forward the confirmation email that you have received at the time of booking to cancellations@barefootrekians.com regarding the cancellation. The Booking Amount is non-refundable. The Refundable Amount is the total booking amount minus Train Ticket Charges. Whenever IRCTC will refund us we will revert you the same minus Agent Charges.

Our Standard Cancellation Policy are as follows :

Cancellation 30 days before the starting date of the backpacking

If you're canceling the trip and opting for a refund before 30 days of the Departure Date then only 25% of the refundable amount will be charged as a cancellation fee and the remaining sum would be refunded.
Cancellation between 30 days and 14 days before the starting date of the backpacking

If you're canceling the trip and opting for a refund before 30 days to 14 days of the Departure Date then only 55% of the refundable amount will be charged as a cancellation fee and the remaining sum would be refunded.
Cancellation between 13 days and 8 days before the starting date of the backpacking

If you're canceling the trip and opting for a refund before 13 days to 8 days of the Departure Date then only 85% of the refundable amount will be charged as a cancellation fee and the remaining sum would be refunded.
Cancellation less than 7 days before the starting date of the backpacking

If you're canceling the trip and opting for a refund before 7 days of the Departure Date then there will be no refund. We won't entertain your refund query for the same.

You are not eligible for a refund if you fail to show up on the day of departure under the given timeline that has been provided to you beforehand. There would be no refund provided in case some problems occur due to government orders, harsh weather conditions, protests, landslides, or any other unforeseen circumstances.
On the occasion of any such happenings, we have a backup plan ready most of the time and we'll be moving onto that. There are times when we would have to cancel some activities mentioned in the itinerary but it's only due to the reason that we would be bound by a circumstance that is not in our control.
If a trip is called off at the last moment due to a natural calamity/unforeseen circumstances (like rain, snowfall, earthquake, landslides, strike, bandh, etc.) then the participants would be provided with a travel voucher for the same amount that can be used within 365 days of the issuance date for any package worth the Refundable Amount.
We don’t take any responsibility for the train tickets got stuck in RAC or WL status. Hence, no refunds will be initiated from Barefoot Trekians.
If a trip has to be aborted midway due to a natural calamity/unforeseen circumstances (like rain, snowfall, earthquake, landslides, strike, bandh, etc.). In that case, no refund would be provided.
Barefoot Trekians Pvt. Ltd. will not bear any extra expense due to any natural calamity/unforeseen circumstances (like rain, snowfall, earthquake, landslides, strike, bandh, etc.).
