Nerak Waterfall is 56 feet high. The blue colour visible gives a hint of the running flow of water behind this frozen form.
The temperatures are usually 15 to 20 degrees during the day time and plummet to -25 to -35 degrees during the night in this region.
You will walk on a frozen river, and it is so transparent sometimes, you will feel like a glass walk.

Wake up excited because the official trek starts today, enjoy tea and breakfast and move to Shingra Koma which is about a 70 km drive. This is not a route for people with low immunity because bumpy roads are common in this journey. It will take 2.5 hrs.
The best thing about this trek is that it goes on a flat altitude and there are no hard ascents or descents throughout the trek.
You will be awestruck with the high mountains surrounded all around.
On arrival, we will start our trek towards our campsite, Tsomo Paldar.
The layer of Chadar may seem thin here, you can also see various rock formations.
This 11 km Trek will take almost 5-6 hours.
Dinner will be served and chats of the start of the Chadar trek will be all around.
The briefing will be done and we will start our trek towards Dib Cave/Tibb (which will also be our campsite for the night) which is a 14km trek at a whopping height of 10800 feet.
As you start heading to the next campsite which is Tibb Cave, this trek route has some of the most eye-catching frozen waterfalls that you’ll see.
You will probably have to squint your eyes to get some proper sunlight but you still may be unavailable because of the stiff cliffs creating an obstruction.
When you reach Dib from a distance you will be able to see a large cave and a sense of relief will run through your veins because that will be your halt for the night.
Today’s trek will take about 6 hours.
With a glass of butter tea in one hand and various conversations on the other, you will pass your time at the campsite.
Enjoy an overnight stay at the campsite.
Today we will take a trek to the most scenic part of the region.
After the hustle of the 12 km trek, you will get to witness the largest frozen waterfall and prayer flags, if you can keep your phones/cameras charged you can get clicked with one of the most scenic views behind.
Later we proceed towards Nerak Village where we will get a chance to mingle with the local people and understand their way of living.
Nerak will be the coldest of all the campsites on the trek where the temperature goes down to as low as -30 degrees during the night. It will be important that you wear proper clothing and layers to stay safe from the biting cold.
In the village, you will get to witness the old constructions of India like ancient bridges and constructions.
Today’s hike will take almost 7 hours.
Your stay will be planned at a comfortable village camp.
Our 12 km return trek starts today but no need to feel dejected, it will be nothing like before it will behold various new challenges on its way.
You will not be able to recognize the sights because the Zanskar river keeps changing its form with the slightest temperature changes.
On the way back, admire the beauty of the region and you can also spend your time wearing traditional woolen gonchans (robes).
If you are lucky enough you will find local people singing the famous Ladhaki songs which will force you to throw out some of your best dance moves.
Upon arrival at Tibb Cave, spend your time relaxing at the campsite. Get in your sleeping bags for a peaceful sleep.
Today’s journey will take 5-6 hrs to complete.
In the morning, we leave our campsite (Tibb) and proceed towards Shingra Koma, our last but long trek of 17 km which will take 9 hrs.
On the way, we will cross Gyalpo if we're lucky enough we will be able to witness various wild animals like snow leopards, ibex, and foxes.
The sun being our old friend may be generous enough to give us a warm farewell.
Take the last glimpse of Chadar before the tempo traveler is there to pick you up and you have to board it with a thousand memories.
In the evening we will drive back to Leh for an overnight stay at a hotel.
